Deputy Chief Cliff Thompson joined the Rogers Fire Department in 1997. Chief Thompson became a certified paramedic in 2000 and promoted to captain in 2002. In 2013 he was selected to become the Battalion Chief serving as Citywide Tour Commander for the “B” Platoon. He holds a bachelor’s degree in fire service administration and prevention technology from Western Illinois University in conjunction with the National Fire Academy.
Chief Thompson was recognized as a Fire Officer Designee from the Commission on Professional Credentialing in 2010. Chief Thompson is a graduate of the Arkansas Chief Fire Officer Program and the Executive Fire Officer program at the National Fire Academy. Chief Thompson served as a validation committee member for the textbook titled Structural Firefighting: Truck Company Skills and Tactics Second Edition published by the International Fire Service Training Association. Chief Thompson also served as president of the Arkansas State Firefighters Association - Northwest District.
Chief Thompson served 6 years as the Citywide Tour Commander assigned to “B” Platoon and also in the training division as the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program manager. He is currently assigned as the Deputy Fire Chief over the Field Operations Division.
