The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is comprised of a captain, 3 sergeants, 14 investigators, and 2 clerical staff members.
The Crimes Against Property Unit is responsible for investigating of all crimes against property to include felony thefts, burglaries, forgeries, etc. The unit is supervised by one sergeant.
The Crimes Against Persons Unit is responsible for the investigation of all crimes against persons such as rapes, sexual assaults, batteries, etc. Two members of this unit hold specialized positions, a Crime Scene Technician and a Forensic Computer Examiner. The Crime Scene Technician assists officers in the processing of major crime scenes for evidence. The Forensic Computer Examiner uses a variety of electronic tools to examine all manner of electronic devices for evidence of a crime. The unit is supervised by one sergeant.
The Drug Unit is comprised of a team of investigators responsible for the investigation of illicit drug use and trafficking. The unit works cooperatively with other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies
