The Rogers Fire Explorer's Post is a group of young men and women between the ages of 16 and 21 who have an interest in pursing a firefighting career. Explorers give these young adults the opportunity to encounter similar working conditions of actual firefighters.
Program Meetings & Criteria
Explorers meet at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month. There they conduct business meetings, train with members of the Rogers Fire Department, and plan fund raising events.
They are instructed in areas such as fire suppression, fire prevention, equipment, and apparatus; this includes hands-on training with all the equipment necessary for a firefighter to perform their job. Explorers participate in a ride-along program, where they ride with firefighters and paramedics to observe real emergency incidents.
To take advantage of this program or to find out more information, please email Eric Warzecha of Station 1, B Platoon, or call 479-621-1111.
